Where the heart rests

I have places and people where my heart rests.

The “cozy” love is a grandmother’s house.Hammock, fan, cajuína (tradicional drink from Piauí )at will. In fact, there is always food to be served.

The past is the starter, it was just an appetizer of what’s to come.

A present is a main course, it’s what fills me up, it’s what should be enjoyed.

The future is like dessert, I’m always looking forward to it.

At night I stare at myself in the mirror and my cosmetics too.

Lipstick that was used on the mouth that grumbles and laughs.

The scent on the body looking forward to a night. The body cream used on tired legs.

Tonic for the face with the first wrinkles of the first battles.

I go to bed, look at my altar on the bedside table and remember the therapist’s speech: Therapy saves the mind, religion saves the soul.

Today I see that my truth was a scared patient who needed to be taken in, not a cruel tormentor.

I’ve aimed at things from above, in fact. My prize is to suffice me with every moment I can feel.
