Pity x compassion

This post is also available in: Português

Pity is a pain that feels lonely. It is a receptive and passive energy. We feel guilty
about being well and the other is not. We feel “important” to help the other and thus
cause dependency.
Compassion starts with empathy for the other's pain and reaches out to help process
the suffering, in addition to believing in the other's potential to overcome the problem.
Compassion looks at the other as an equal, without causing dependence.
"I learned that a man only has the right to look another man up and down to help him up."
