The brazilian literary chronicle

Lavender camps– my painting

Currently, my favorite literary genre is the literary chronicle.

To the non-brazilian readers, the literary cronicle is unique.Has a taste of açaí (typical brazilian fruit ) and guaraná.

With the arrival of the portuguese royal family in 1808, the brazilian gets and new storyteller: themselves.Under the influence of french newpaper, the brazilian cronicle stays on the end of the page, which we call “rodapé”.

José de Alencar, Joaquim Manuel de Macedo e Machado de Assis were the first representatives. Its gets on the border of journalism and literature. As brazilian as samba, the literary cronicle has a sense of humor and small talk..Joins humor and poetry.

The newspaper literature. Literature journalism. It is the pause of subjectivity, alongside the objectivity of information from the rest of the newspaper. An instant of reflection, in the face of the peremptory opinion of the editorial. […] It is, therefore, the journalistic-literary expression of the need to not give up being and feeling. The chronicle is the samba of literature (TÁVOLA, 2001).

I have already done 4 literary workshops in São Paulo, I had teachers like Fabrício Carpinejar and Marcelo Rubens Paiva. I have a dozen books about it and I am a voracious reader.

The chronicle eternalizes the passenger, crystallizes the ephemeral, the unimportant, the intimate headlines that journalism does not capture. The chronicle is the defeat of the ephmeral. The imortalization of my emocional news.

The chronicle shows us the uniqueness of the daily life, of mine, of yours. Refine your look at a time when memories and information seem to have been made not to last.

I reimbursed missing a stage and decided to immortalize it in light, funny, reflective texts.

My second book its called “Refundable nostalgia”.Thats the closest I get for a translation.Anyway, it has 98 chronicles and tells the phase of the end of the  Psycholog college, the discoveries, the illusion of the normality of a society that has not learned to deal with madness. Madness that disguises itself as sadness, doubt, internal conflicts.

Because madness is cheap, feeds of ignorance. It is quick , insatiable, creative.Normality and sanity are the expensive ones. They demand dedication, willingness to change.Medicines is expensive.Therapy is expensive.Selk-knowledge is painful. And expensive.Never in the history being normal and well balanced was free.Costs time, money and tears.

Bur writing healed me.I think it can help you too. I liked it And I hope you like it too!
